We’re proud to say that our women Firefighters are making history in our Department, while helping to inspire youngsters throughout New York City. Today, you get to learn about Engine 235 Firefighter Antoinette Proctor, who is also a United States Marine.
“Helping people was a big part of why I decided to join the FDNY, because I’m a Marine and I wanted to continue to serve the community,” she said. “I’m also a mom and I value that kids love Firefighters. I’m a little kid’s hero and there’s no better feeling than that. I hope the kids that I talk to see that they can grow up and join this great Department and be heroes in their neighborhoods too.”
