The FDNY Fire Cadet Academy is in full swing !
On June 5, our Fire Cadets began their 2-year apprenticeship program, designed to provide academic, experimental, and physical instruction to prepare Fire Cadets for admission to and graduation from FDNY Probationary Firefighter School.
Over the course of two years, Fire Cadets will participate in significant classroom, field, and fitness training, along with work rotations in four-month increments at various FDNY Bureaus to ensure that the Fire Cadets become familiar with all operations of the Fire Department.
