Emergency Medical Technician Thameshwar Mangra is one of our highly-trained first responders, which is a career achievement that helps to give him a sense of purpose.
“I’ve been an EMT in the FDNY for 10 years now and there aren’t many jobs that can actually impact a person’s life forever, but my career is one of them,” he explained. “When you work as an EMT, it can have a profound effect on you, as well as the person you’re helping, and those memories really stay with you throughout your career. The excitement that I feel when responding to calls lets me know that I still love what I do and being part of a Department that is a role model for other EMS services worldwide continues to give me a great sense of pride.”
