May 7, 2018Fire Protection Inspector Kenneth Wong said his passion is to be able to help the community in an extraordinary way. For him, working for the FDNY represents that and so much more.
“I joined the FDNY as an Inspector because I wanted to give back to the City. I wanted to make a difference and being an Inspector for the FDNY gives me that opportunity,” he said. “Knowing that I made a contribution to fire safety and protecting life and property makes me proud to be working in this great Department.”
Wong also recently advanced his career by serving in New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Task Force. In this position, he helps to conduct special inspections throughout the City.
“For all future candidates in this career, my advice is don’t be afraid to speak up and ask questions or ask for help. Your supervisors and fellow Inspectors are there to help you no matter how small the task,” he added.
