Firefighters Educate Students About Their Career

A special shout out goes to the 70 students of the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) who trained with our Firefighters on Aug. 15 as part of their visit to our Fire Academy on Randall’s Island.

For the past three years, the FDNY Office of Recruitment and Retention has partnered with DYCD to coordinate activities that educate Summer Youth Employment (SYEP) students about serving as a New York City Firefighter. Great job to all of today’s participants who bravely completed our Introduction to CPAT, Forcible Entry, Roof Rope Rescue, Subway Simulator and Extinguishing a Car Fire training sessions.
