I t’s time to meet another FDNY member who is competing at the next level. Station 50 Paramedic Megan Pfeiffer was recently named to the USA National Dragon Boat Team and will be showcasing her athletic talents in the 14th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Thailand this week.
“What I love most about the job is being able to help people and being a part of the FDNY has exposed me to so many different cultures,” Pfeiffer said. “Working in Queens has been inspiring with the intercultural experiences it has to offer and my connection to the FDNY Phoenix Society gave me the exposure that I needed in getting started with Dragon Boat. I’m very excited.”
The competition, which includes 30 countries, features five consecutive days of racing. We wish Megan and Team USA the best as they represent our country. You can watch the livestream here. Read more about the championships here.
