Thirty-three years ago, FDNY Deputy Chief Cheryl Middleton made the courageous decision to become an Emergency Medical Technician. Since then, she has risen through our ranks and inspired many others to choose a rewarding career in our EMS. In February 2018, she also made history in our Department as the second black woman to ascend to her current rank. Join us today in giving Deputy Chief Middleton her flowers as we celebrate Black History Month.
