Today, Acting Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh presided over the graduation ceremony for the 15th class from the FDNY Captain Vernon A. Richard High School for Fire and Life Safety. These students have successfully completed a challenging academic program that focuses on leadership and strength as core values, as well as the academic and physical skills necessary for emergency responders.
To date, 73 alums have joined our Department and are serving as first responders.
