On Oct. 14 and 15, members of the FDNY Vulcan Society and FDNY family were hoopin’ it up in Brownsville for the 2022 Firefighter Leon Smith Jr. Basketball Tournament. The event featured 3-on-3 games, Fire Safety Education, Mobile CPR, FDNY camaraderie and more for the community. The tourney was held in remembrance of Smith Jr., a Ladder 118 Firefighter who made the Supreme Sacrifice on September 11, 2001. All of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Leon Smith Jr. Scholarship Fund.
